The development of rail transport and the importance of its economic potential

Abstract: The economy of any country could be viewed as a complex of various enterprises closely connected with each other and the state. It is enterprises, as a key link of the economy, that create the basis for consumption and help the national wealth grow. Therefore, this article substantiates how important the economic potential is for the railway sector. Resources of the economic potential of the railway sector provide for application of certain indicators, which cover all resources available for an enterprise. The economic potential of the railway transport is viewed as a complex of interconnected criteria. It is suggested to put the highest emphasis on the economic potential of the railway transport, making use of which will give an insight into development of this object.
