Abstract: Research shows that business cooperation is one of the factors that contribute to an improved economic performance of companies and that combined processes of internationalisation and cooperation can bring synergistic effects. The study attempted to link the elements of economic performance in medium-sized Polish companies to the level of their commitment to cooperation and internationalisation. The research used empirical data relating to the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland from an empirical study conducted in 2010. The research was coordinated by Marianna Strzyżewska, PhD, from the College of World Economy of Warsaw School of Economics. The results of estimation of two-level regression model showed that commitment to internationalisation boosts the relationship between economic performance of small and medium-sized companies and their commitment to cooperation.
