Abstract:
In research dedicated to the economic development of countries and regions, the concept of convergence and the application of quantitative methods to the estimation thereof are used increasingly often. The article presents the results of research on convergence in Polish NUTS 2 regions. The purpose of this article is to examine the occurrence of regional GDP per capita convergence in Poland. The analysis was carried out for the period between 2000 and 2012 at the level of voivodeships (NUTS 2). Empirical verification of the beta-convergence hypothesis was based on cross section data.
