Abstract: The article is devoted to cloud computing in the public administration in literature and empirical research. After the introduction, the second section describes development trends of cloud services provided by administrative units from the point of view of literature. The third section presents conclusions of empirical research based on an analysis of data from a survey made by the Center of IT Projects (CPI). The survey concerned the use of cloud computing for local administration. Finally, there are conclusions and an indication of directions of further research related to the public value created by the cloud.
