Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine the importance of ICT companies in this part of the world economy which is formed by global corporations. On the basis of the available statistical data, the number of companies from the ICT sector as well as their share in the revenues, profits, and market value will be defined. This will allow to assess if the industry to which commonly we attach such importance indeed plays the role that is attributed to it.
