Abstract:
The goal of the paper is clustering OECD states in the context of energy efficiency. For this purpose, the study involved agglomerative hierarchical clustering method of the dataset using the Agglomerative Nesting algorithm implemented as the agnes () function of the cluster package running in the R environment. For evaluation of the results the silhouette () function was applied and for the purpose of presentation in the form of dendrogram – the plot.agnes () function; both functions are included in the cluster package. The results of the performed analysis, especially the determined homogeneous group where Poland was placed, can serve as a starting point for further works associated with energy efficiency improvement.
