Games for health – the concept, example applications, and socio-economic potential

Abstract: In this article the author presents the general concept and selected categories of games for health. The categories presented include serious games and the gamification of health and wellness as well as the various target groups of users. Examples of applications have been presented for each category. Moreover, the article presents the socio-economic potential of games for health and the threats associated with them.
