Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse and evaluate the phenomenon of financial exclusion both as a financial category and as a sphere of interest in sustainable finance and to indicate the possibility of counteracting and overcoming the negative consequences of financial exclusion on the basis of a review of critical literature and related work. The original contribution is an approach and analysis of the problem of financial exclusion from the perspective of sustainable finance and the assumption that sustainable finance effectively suppresses and counteracts financial exclusion. In addressing the problem of overcoming financial exclusion, the current approach based on related work neglects the role and importance of sustainable finance.
