Abstract:
This work aimed to assess the gaps between competencies and skills of economic education graduates and the requirements of employers' skills and abilities of Pitesti, the identification of these gaps’ causes, and of viable solutions to eliminate the dentified aps. Therefore, the paper presents the results of a pilot study based on two empirical research, one conducted at the level of a sample of final year students from the Faculty of Economics, from University of Pitesti and one conducted on a group sample from Pitesti based-companies. The research results support the hypothesis from which we started, namely that there are differences of perception between prospective employees and employers. It is interesting that both prospective employees and employers consider that practical training is lower than expected.
