Touristic Investments in Saranda Region

Abstract: Development of tourism, in general presuppose completing of significant capital investment by the state and the private sector. Many times, it happens that investments done by the state and private sector for the touristic development, of a country, or of a region are not enough for the development of tourism. In such a situation, it helps foreign investments, which help touristic sector completing the touristic offer. Touristic investments are the second essential element of general expenditure after the touristic consume. The purpose of this research study is to analyze the development of investments (public and private ones) in Saranda Region comparing them with general investments done in Albania and needs for investments in this sector. The given data belong to: Municipality of Saranda, INSTAT, Annual book of Statistics, Ministry of Tourism and Bank of Albania. Making a comparative analyze, we reached the conclusions that, to have the development of tourism, we required not only private investments, but even public investments and a strong collaboration between private and public sector.
