Abstract: While the advent of vaccines for Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae has curtailed invasive bacterial infection rates, IMD continues to be a public health concern that presents greatly increased hospital costs, LOS and mortality risk, particularly for infants and adolescents.
