Supporting a Network Way of Working in an Electronic Social Space

Abstract: Abstract This paper describes the use of a distributed group communication system to support consultation and collaboration among people in different international agencies who cannot meet physically. Following a description of the network of international agencies and the technology that they use, two types of interaction are presented. The study culminates with an analysis which provides practical insights into the type of support required for a globally networked way of working.
