Abstract:
Abstract Coerciveness results are given for conical nonsmooth functionals fulfilling an appropriate Palais-Smale condition. The class of functionals covered by our results is that of quasiorder related lower-semicontinuous functions on metric spaces. Our approach relies on the study of the asymptotic behavior of such functionals through the monotone variational principle in Turinici (An. Stiint. Univ. Al. I. Cuza Iaşi (S. I-a, Mat.) 36:329–352 (1990)).
