Abstract:
Abstract In their recent book Why Managers Matter: The Perils of the Bossless Company, Foss and Klein defend management and managers and discuss the value and limits of traditional hierarchies. In this review, I discuss the key ideas presented in the book and reflect on the broader discussion in the literature on non-hierarchical forms of organizing and how this book fits in the overall debate in the field.
