Abstract:
Abstract Judit Bar-Ilan (JB) was an influential researcher in information science and scientometrics. She published more than 100 papers about different topics. We used the CRExplorer (see www.crexplorer.net) to investigate the historical roots of JB’s research. In this program, the N_TOP10 indicator is available. We applied this indicator to identify those publications which have been very frequently cited by JB during several citing years. These might be the publications by which JB was mostly influenced in her research. Our results show that the identified publications are seminal works in information science and scientometrics as well as methodologically oriented publications dealing with text or content analyses as well as influence or distance measures.
