Abstract:
Abstract The paper discusses the most important issues related to the calculation of the industrial production index in Russian statistics. The basic methodological principles of calculating this index and their application in the existing statistical reporting are described. Based on the analysis of a large array of data on the production of the most important types of industrial products, the authors define some of the main problems in the formation of industrial production indices, as well as their manifestation in the final results of official statistics, including in 2019. The priority orientations of work are also proposed to eliminate the identified problems.
