Abstract: Abstract This paper discusses the problems and prospects of providing the population of Russia and the world with potatoes as one of the main insurance food products. The structure of its production and consumption by the main regions and agricultural organizations of Russia is shown. The expediency of the transition to new systems for the production and supply of potatoes and vegetables on the basis of cooperative forms of organization of production and processing is substantiated.
