Abstract:
Abstract— The article discusses the main areas of research of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in various periods of its activity: Soviet, transitional and modern. It is shown that the main emphasis in these three periods was on theoretical research and the development of proposals in the field of economic policy. The scientists of the Institute sought to find the optimal balance between state and market principles. The merger with IIEPS RAS in 2005 made it possible to strengthen the international component in the work of the Institute, which is currently represented by research in the field of the influence of external factors on the Russian economy. The development of original theoretical approaches (the theory of the paternalistic state, switching modes of reproduction, etc.) and problems of economic policy (in the field of strategic planning, monetary, fiscal, social and labor, innovation and foreign economic policy) is being actively carried out.
