Abstract: Abstract— The article is devoted to the analysis of modernization changes in Russia. Using calculations made in the information system “Modernization,” the dynamics of modernization indices in the context of federal districts and regions of the Russian Federation are shown. It has been determined that the secondary modernization in Russia has not yet been completed; of all the indices that make up its basis, the scientific and technological block of indicators (“innovation in knowledge” index) “sags” the most. Interregional gaps in the “Technology” parameters between the leading entity and the entity closing the rating doubled in 2020 compared to 2010. There is a significant asymmetry in the availability of modern technologies, R&D funding, and the development of human resources for researchers and developers.
