Abstract: Abstract The article provides a brief overview of the areas of possible strengthening of domestic research on the applied use of quantitative tools for global value chains, including the assessment of their impact on the number and structure of employees. The main attention is paid to the application of the method of measuring the “length” of intersectoral intercountry links to Russian foreign economic relations. An assessment of the intensity and fragmentation of intercountry intersectoral relations that have developed over the past several decades have been considered. The authors’ position is to substantiate the necessity and possibility of using the considered tools for quantitative measurement of the “strength” and length of intersectoral relations in substantiating the prospects for Russia’s trade and economic relations with the outside world.
