Abstract: Abstract— The article is devoted to the interpretation of the theory of qualitative heterogeneity of resources by Academician Yu.V. Yaremenko from the point of view of the classical school of political economy. The author shows that the concepts of quality and mass resources, compensation and substitution effects, as well as the technological structure of the economy are subject to the laws of dialectical logic. At the same time, the technological choice within this system of concepts remains uncertain. The dialectical logic of the views under consideration makes them compatible with the system of concepts of the classical school. The theory of labor value allows for a deeper interpretation of the phenomenon of resource quality, and the concept of surplus value allows us to explain the technological choice of society.
