Relationship of Optimism Biases and Burnout with Work Stress in Mental Health Professionals: The Mediating Role of Psychological Well-being and Moderating Role of Resilience

Abstract: Purpose: This research aims to find out the relationship between optimism biases, burnout, and work stress with psychological well-being as a mediator and resilience as a moderator of mental health professionals from age 18 to 50.Design/Methodology/Approach: With the help of purposive sampling, data has been collected from various mental health professionals. For statical analysis, Smart PLS 4.0 has been usedFindings: For statical analysis, Smart PLS has been used which shows a significant direct relationship between burnout and work stress (p<0.05) and a significant direct effect between optimism biases and work stress (p<0.05). Results also showed a moderating impact of resilience on burnout and work stress (p<0.05). This research is aimed to fill the gap in the literature and understand the dynamics of the variables.Implications/Originality/Value: In conclusion of the discussion, the relationship between optimism biases, burnout, and work stress has been studied with the mediating effect of psychological well-being and moderating impact of resilience. The results suggest a direct relationship between optimism biases, burnout, and work stress and a significant moderation of resilience between burnout and work stress. However, the mediation of psychological well-being was insignificant as well as the moderation of resilience between optimism biases and work stress
