Abstract: The aim of this article is to demonstrate that, despite the evident differences in form which exist between the work of Boisguilbert and that of Cantillon, the two authors use a similar theoretical framework, which provide the basic principles of the Tableau Economique. More precisely, it will be argued that, in this matter at least, there is sufficient evidence to indicate that Cantillon was influenced by Boisguilbert to some degree.
