The ever-continuing underestimation of the general public

Abstract:
Within politics and science there still seems to be a tendency to consider risk communication successful if and only if the general public believes the risk to be negligible. Using that mental frame, risk management is doomed in a country such as The Netherlands because only zero risk will be acceptable for everybody.
