Developing an Integrative Dynamic Framework of Indigenous Entrepreneurship: The Case of United Arab Emirates

Abstract: Existing models of indigenous entrepreneurship focus more on the contextual settings of indigenous people. Consequently, less is known with regard to how these contexts may affect the national leadership vision, resulting policies for the indigenous population and associated outcomes. In order to address these gaps, the current article proposes a conceptual model of indigenous entrepreneurship. The proposed model posits that a more flexible and emergent approach is needed in light of the changing economic and sociocultural realities of an indigenous context. The model is applied to examine indigenous entrepreneurship in the United Arab Emirates.
