Abstract:
‘This study examines the interactions that occur among researchers, service providers and vulnerable citizens during the co-production of social care services, which is where value is co-created. An in-depth study of co-design and co-assessment workshops with vulnerable citizens revealed that co-production could be reached only at some points of the overall group discussion. Results highlight that vulnerable citizens need time to share and compare their personal experiences and need to be guided in the process by expert facilitators. This study also provides four innovative communicative strategies for supporting the facilitators in involving vulnerable citizens during the co-production of social care services.
