Relations with Non-Elected Agencies: Local Authority Good Practice

Abstract:
The controversy over reform of the local unelected state has tended to over-shadow principles of good practice for local authorities. This article shows how local authorities can get the best out of their relationships with non-elected agencies. In particular, how should they develop their strategic capabilities and representational roles in the ‘new local governance’?
