New development: Supporting crisis budgeting in Ukraine—The role of the EU

Abstract:
This article reviews the different kinds of support given by the European Union to Ukraine, with a special focus on the European budget and financial aid. The article adds to the debate about the role of supranational institutions in managing human-made disasters and stresses the need to pay attention both to short-term and long-term actions and decisions, and to account for them.
