Abstract:
We present a deteriorating system with k failure states and one working state. Assume that the system after repair cannot be as good as new, and the deterioration is stochastic. Under these assumptions, we use a generalised α-series process and geometric process to model system successive working times and consecutive repair times, respectively. Under the replacement policy N, we obtain the expression of the average cost rate (ACR), and derive the optimal replacement policy analytically or numerically. Finally, we provide a numerical example to illustrate our model, and carry through some discussions and sensitivity analysis of the model.
