Abstract: This paper addresses the design of switching event-triggered controller for switched neutral systems (SNSs) with time-varying state delay and neutral delay. The state information and the switching information are sampled and transmitted to the controller only when the event-triggered condition is met, which causes the controller still adopting the controller gain of the previous subsystem between the switching instant and the first triggering instant after system switching. That is, the asynchronous switching between subsystem and controller caused by event-triggered transmission is inevitable. First, we introduce a switching event-triggered mechanism (SETM), which requires a certain time to wait after each sampling before the event-triggered condition is judged. This SETM can efficiently avoid Zeno behaviour but makes the traditional Lyapunov function method no longer applicable. To overcome this difficulty, we propose a new switching Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (SLKF) involving time delay and waiting time, based on which the sufficient criterion for the stability of the closed-loop system is given. Then, the corresponding solvable condition for the controller gains is established under asynchronous switching. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed theory is verified by an example.
