Abstract:
Mediation is used in all types of disputes in divorces and civil law cases, the public policy issues and international conflicts. Many disputes which failed to be resolved by negotiation, find their solution through mediation. Although the mediator can not force a result, the process of mediation is often effective. The key lies in the ability of the mediator to determine mutually productive discussions, discussions that would not have occurred without the mediator.
