Visualization of social networks in Stata using multidimensional scaling

Abstract: I describe and illustrate the use of multidimensional scaling methods for visualizing social networks in Stata. The procedure is implemented in the netplot command. I discuss limitations of the approach and sketch possibilities for improvement. Copyright 2011 by StataCorp LP.
