Abstract:
Modern conditions in which cities develop dictate to subjects of local economic policy new requirements. Competitiveness of the city becomes the basic concept defining its mission and the basic strategic directions of forward planning. The author's researches on theories of city competitiveness, and also some conclusions of the empirical analysis the middle-term and the long-term documents defining social and economic development of certain the largest cities of the Russian Federation are resulted in the article.
