Wage Discrimination against Handicapped Men and Women

William G. Johnson and James Lambrinos

Journal of Human Resources, 1985, vol. 20, issue 2, 264-277

Abstract: The extent of discrimination against handicapped men and women is estimated in this paper. Observed wage differentials are corrected for selectivity bias. The results indicate that almost one-third of the wage differential for men and close to one-half for women can be attributed to discrimination. Interestingly, handicapped women are also subjected to sex discrimination.
