Abstract: This study examines the links between governance and local government performance in Morocco. The methodology adopted allows for an in-depth analysis of the causal relationships between various aspects of governance, such as transparency, participation, convergence and partnership, and local government performance, assessed in terms of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and impactTop of form. The results of the study indicate that some specific dimensions of governance play a significant role in determining the performance of local governments in Morocco. For example, transparency and citizen participation could emerge as key factors positively influencing the quality of local public services. Structural equations make it possible to identify these relationships quantitatively, thus providing valuable information for decision-makers and practitioners engaged in improving local governance in Morocco.
