Abstract: Die Investitionstätigkeit der österreichischen Wirtschaft hat sich 1988 belebt und dürfte 1989 noch schneller zunehmen. Dennoch ist der Investitionszyklus derzeit schwächer als üblicherweise im Konjunkturhoch, und die Investitionsquote ist (gemessen am BIP) niedriger als 1980. 1988 trugen Handel und Bauwirtschaft sowie einzelne Dienstleistungen die Investitionskonjunktur, heuer planen auch Industrie und Elektrizitätswirtschaft eine deutliche Steigerung ihrer Ausgaben.
