Abstract: This article proposes and tests a conceptual model of the process of reducing export inhibitions in small agribusiness firms. Export inhibitions are psychological processes that keep decision makers from pursuing realistic export growth opportunities. Using a sample of 119 active small agribusiness exporters, we assessed the effects of three organizational processes, export planning, export specific information search, and firm planning horizon, on three common sources of export inhibitions. The results demonstrated that export inhibitions can be reduced through the organizational processes investigated in this study. ©1994 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
