Abstract:
The large integrated European Market must be completed by the end of the year 1992. Confronted with the removal of nontariff barriers and the alteration of business environment European agribusiness companies have to reconsider their strategic position in order to gain or sustain competitive advantage after 1992. Strategic considerations require an evaluation of the structural characteristics of agribusiness industry in which the firms operate. This article examines the specific role of strategic moves for European firms and the market entry conditions for non-European agribusiness.
