Abstract: The UK considers itself to be one of the global leaders in carbon capture and storage (CCS). In early 2011, with financial support from the government ring fenced for demonstration‐scale CCS projects, and a demonstration‐scale project on the near horizon, the future for CCS in the UK looked promising. Luke Warren from the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) reflects on some major changes that have happened in the last year and considers where the UK is heading with CCS in 2012 and beyond.
