Abstract:
In mid‐October 2016, Bellona Europa, part of the Bellona Foundation, held an event in Brussels, Belgium, to launch a report critiquing current European Union and national policies on carbon capture, use, and storage, or the lack thereof. The event attracted wide participation with labor unions, industry, and policymakers engaging in constructive dialogue. In this interview, one of the report's authors Keith Whiriskey, Policy Manager, Climate Technologies, talks to GHGS&T about its findings and how Bellona hopes the report and conference will go some way to taking Europe out of the current malaise concerning carbon capture and storage (CCS).
