Abstract: A non-interacting lattice gas with order preservation in a constant external field is studied by numerical and analytical methods. The equilibrium distribution is of the Bose-Einstein type. If additional hard-core repulsion is imposed, it becomes a distribution of Fermi-Dirac type. When relaxing the order preservation condition the classical Boltzmann distribution is recovered.
