Abstract: The Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) is a software system that enables a collection of heterogeneous computer systems to be used as a coherent and flexible concurrent computation resource. We show that genetic algorithms can be implemented using a Parallel Virtual Machine and C++. Problems with constraints are also discussed.
