Abstract:
A simple lava flow automaton is discretized, three different variants are shown to exhibit a wide range of behavior, while some geometrical and shape characteristics are analysed. We respect, on an underlying square topology, equalization of lava height between nearest neighbors (whenever possible), and update the evolution in parallel. This model is a discretized version (as regards the lava level) of a very successful continuous height automaton, but with no local loss through cooling.
