Abstract: We have studied numerically the frequency distributionρ(n)of thenth neighbour along the optimal tour in the Euclidean travelling salesman problem forNcities, in dimensionsd = 2andd = 3. We find there is no significant dependence ofρ(n)on either the number of citiesNor the dimensiond.
