Abstract: This study investigates the metabolic rates of living organisms in motion through numerical simulations, employing a modified equation that accounts for the combined effects of kinetic energy and temperature via the Boltzmann factor. This approach provides a comprehensive analysis of metabolic processes. The metabolic scaling exponent was calculated for organisms both within the same species and across different species. For organisms of the same species, the scaling exponent was consistent with the expected value of 0.75, as predicted by the 3/4 Law of Metabolism. In contrast, for organisms across different species, a scaling exponent of approximately 0.8 was observed. The results suggest that metabolic scaling may differ when comparing across species.
