Die Verkehrsinfrastrukturpolitik braucht eine neue Zukunftsidee

Abstract: The new federal government’s infrastructure policy is guided by the recipes of the 1950s. The barriers to mobility are being greatly reduced and people should be able to move even more, even faster and even further. At its core, the policy is about road expansion focused on the automobile, while public transport continues to be a token event. At the same time, society has changed. Despite the many privileges for the car, people are driving less. Walking and cycling are becoming much more important. Infrastructure policy therefore needs a new idea for the coming decades in order to pick up on existing trends and make society robust and future-proof.
