Abstract:
This paper aims to assess the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Romania in the context of the EU-27 membership. To achieve this, we used specific indicators for all 17 SDGs and we performed a comparative and time-series analysis to identify the current social, economic and environmental challenges that Romania is facing. Our results show that socioeconomic challenges are more pressing than environmental ones, compared to other developed EU MS where the environmental challenges needs an increased focus within the policy specific processes.
