Abstract:
Study commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) The "All-German Support Concept" („Gesamtdeutschen Förderkonzept") adopted by the federal government is intended to concentrate various federal support programs of regional policy significance on the structurally weakest regions of Germany defined according to uniform criteria. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), the ifo Institute, together with the Gesellschaft für Finanz- und Regionalanalysen (GEFRA) and the Bundesinstitut für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung (BBSR), combined the individual indicators used for this purpose into an overall indicator. The result shows that most of the previous assisted regions can continue to be classified as GRW assisted areas in the future.
