Chapter 6 in Employment Law for a Brave New World, 2025, pp 82-105 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter asks whether future generations of workers will have an effective voice in influencing the terms and conditions under which they work. In particular it addresses the need for a new approach to be taken towards collective bargaining given the recognition by the OECD and other institutions that collective bargaining is a key to ensuring the transitions needed to ensure an inclusive and prosperous future of work. The chapter focuses primarily on trade union membership and collective bargaining but also looks at other forms of voice such as tripartite consultations and workplace level voice.
