Chapter 7 in Handbook of Historical Methods for Management, 2023, pp 94-102 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The past forty years have seen the development and growth of management and organizational history. Throughout this time there have been a wide variety of debates that pertain to how best to study the past in and around organizations. In this chapter we use the key terms from each of the chapters to provide shape to the current field and as a way to understand where the field sits today. In particular, we discuss a continuing debate about the ANTi-History and its utility as a method to study management and organizations.
